The developer, Stuart McAuley, claims that the high transmission charges, particularly in the north of Scotland, make it financially unviable.
This 125-turbine wind farm aimed to power an impressive two million homes by 2029. However, the consortium behind it argues that the cost of connecting to the electricity network is a significant hurdle, making it challenging to compete with projects in England.
